Community Access Services is a private nonprofit organization that provides residential and employment services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who live and work in our community. Serving Oregonians for more than 26 years, Community Access Services is a trusted service provider dedicated to the advocacy of individuals with intellectual and emotional disabilities.

We have many open positions available in Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and Columbia counties. Minimum requirements for employment with CAS:

Employment Specialist Positions Open

Community Access Services is seeking Employment Specialists to serve our customers in Washington County and Hood River/The Dalles!

We are building a team of employees that is diverse and enthusiastic about supporting and empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to access their communities through vocational experiences and employment. This position is full-time and will pay $15-16 hours DOE + benefits and $250 bonuses for placement and retention.

Job Duties Include:

  • Assist job seekers in obtaining community-based employment opportunities (at minimum wage or better) using customized employment strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Assist job seekers to gain vocational training, benefits planning and access to other services when applicable.
  • Assist job seekers with connections to community resources and benefits.
  • Complete vocational intakes; develop career plans; develop relationships with employers; complete job analysis and job carvings; create and complete resumes/cover letters, and provide job coaching and retention.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Highly Preferred: completed Supported Employment certifications such as EOP II, Highline, VCU, APSE, CESP, etc.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a proven track record for providing supported employment services for at least 1 year, or a combination of comparable experience and education.
  • Strong knowledge of the communities of Washington County, or Hood River/The Dalles.

Additional Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with someone living with a developmental disability, preferably in an employment setting
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to qualify as a company driver (Licensed at least 2 years with no more then 3 driving infractions in a 3 year period)
  • Must have your own reliable transportation to get to job sites not on the bus line
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Program Supervisor at St. Helens DSA

We are seeking to hire an experienced, energetic and inspired individual to manage our Day Services/Employment Program in St Helens, Oregon.

The Program Supervisor’s responsibilities are to oversee the daily operations of the program which include supervision of staff, scheduling and program finances. This position is also responsible for creating and implementing Person Centered support plans, hiring staff, on-site training and cultivating a work environment that contributes to the success of the agency’s mission. Position is full-time, salary DOE + benefits.

Part-time Job Coach

As a Job Coach at Community Access Services, you will work one-on-one with a small caseload of adults who experience varying degrees of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities supporting them in paid community-based jobs. Responsibilities for this position will include providing on-site job training and support to individuals in their workplace regarding job duties, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the employer, communicating with your caseload’s employers, supervisors, and co-workers, documentation of daily interactions and activities, generation of monthly status reports about each customer on the Job Coach’s caseload, and working as part of a team to develop and update each individual’s support plan. This position is part-time (12 hours per week) and pays $13.75.

In addition to CAS’ minimum requirements, the Job Coach position requires that the candidate possess two years of previous experience working with people who have disabilities/impairments, proficiency using Microsoft Office, and experience in teaching or training. To be considered for this position, we also require a resume and cover letter with the completed CAS application.

Part-time Registered Nurse in Columbia County needed

Community Access Services (CAS) is a non-profit organization that provides residential services and employment opportunities to individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). W e are currently seeking to hire a part time Registered Nurse to provide nursing consultation to multiple individuals residing in CAS group homes, who live throughout the Columbia County area. This is a benefited position for a nursing professional who seeks an opportunity to provide a creative, more hands-on and holistic approach to care and services and who may be looking to subsidize existing their income. Preference is given to applicants with experience in working with individuals with I/DD and other cognitive challenges.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a current RN license for the State of Oregon and be in good standing with the Oregon Board of Nursing
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working as an RN
  • Must have a current CPR/First Aid Certification (BLS preferred)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (Conducted by the State of Oregon DHS)

Position Summary:

Responsible for generating the plan of care and over-seeing medical, psychiatric, dental, physical/occupational therapies, and dietary support needs of individuals served. Acts as a liaison to other medical professionals. Responsible to perform nursing assessments, nursing care plans, and protocols that meet the needs of supported individuals. Responsible to perform RN Delegations and medical teachings to staff as indicated. Responsible to maintain proper documentation of all medical supports provided to individuals served in accordance to approved team agreement, agency standards and state licensing requirements. Excellent communication and training skills are a must. Works closely with the programs supervisor to ensure proper training, communication, and direction of supports being provided by Direct Support Professionals.
